In a high-stakes clash at Eden Gardens, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) face off against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in what is effectively a do-or-die match for the defending champions. With only four games left in the league stage, KKR find themselves in a tight corner—needing to win all remaining fixtures to keep their IPL 2025 playoff hopes alive.

KKR’s home form has been far from reassuring this season, with just one win in five outings at Eden Gardens. The traditionally spin-friendly wicket has failed to deliver for Kolkata's tweakers, and their misfiring top order has only added to the pressure. However, a gritty 14-run win over Delhi Capitals in their previous game may offer the momentum they desperately need.

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, have already been knocked out of playoff contention. Missing senior players like Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler, the Jaipur-based franchise will hope its younger core can rise to the occasion and throw a wrench into Kolkata’s campaign. Riyan Parag will continue to lead the side in Samson’s absence, with Dhruv Jurel donning the wicketkeeping gloves.
