England wicket-keeper batter Phil Salt was sold to Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs 11.50 crore in the IPL 2025 auction on Sunday at Jeddah.

Mumbai Indians opened the bidding with Rs 2 crore, and was with a war with RCB. However, the pulled out at Rs 4 crore. KKR started bidding and gave RCB a tough fight, but the southern franchise outbid them because of the purse remaining. KKR had Rs 25 crore, while RCB had Rs 72 crore at the time.

Salt had a stellar 2024 season where he scored 435 runs opening the innings at a strike rate of 182. He is ranked second in the ICC T20 rankings. He has also captained England in the format.
