In a stunning move during the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction 2025, Australian pacer Mitchell Aaron Starc has been sold to Delhi Capitals (DC) for a hefty sum of Rs 11.75 crore.

This comes after the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opted not to retain the fast bowler, who was previously the most expensive player in IPL history following his acquisition for Rs 24.75 crore in the 2024 auction.

Starc, known for his express pace and ability to thrive under pressure, had an impressive season last year, claiming 17 wickets, including five crucial scalps in the Qualifier and final matches. Despite his standout performance, injuries and international commitments hampered his participation throughout the season.

In the context of his IPL career, Starc has played a total of 27 matches since his debut in 2014, taking 51 wickets with an impressive average of 22.29. His best IPL performance remains 4/15, showcasing his potential to change the course of a game.

As the IPL 2025 season approaches, all eyes will be on Starc and how he will impact the Delhi Capitals' campaign.
