David Warner went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction on Sunday at Jeddah. The Australian legend had a base price of Rs 2 crore, but saw no paddles going up for him.

Delhi Capitals released the top-order batter ahead of the auction.

Warner has been a part of the cash-rich league since 2009 and has played for two IPL teams in his career: Delhi Capitals (formerly Daredevils) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Warner’s IPL career has been nothing less than extraordinary. The Australian player joined Delhi Capitals in 2022 for Rs. 6.25 crores and played 34 matches for the team. Over his first two seasons, Warner scored 432 runs and 516 runs. In IPL 2023, he captained the Capitals, but despite his impressive batting, DC finished at the bottom of the points table. In the previous season, Warner was limited to just eight matches due to a finger injury, scoring 168 runs.

Known as "The Bull," he has won the Orange Cap three times and captained SRH to their maiden and only IPL title in the 2016 season. He has been an IPL legend with 6,565 runs at a strike rate of 140.
