IPL 2024: Hardik Pandya returns to Mumbai Indians

Swashbuckling India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been transferred to Mumbai Indians, an official statement regarding the trade was released by IPL.the deal has been signed between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans to transfer Hardik Pandya.

Swashbuckling India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been transferred to Mumbai Indians, an official statement regarding the trade was released by the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday.

"This brings back so many wonderful memories. Mumbai. Wankhede. Paltan. Feels good to be back," said Hardik Pandya in his post on 'X' on his return.



"Gujarat Titans’ (GT) captain, Hardik Pandya, is set to move back to his first franchise, Mumbai Indians, following a trade between the two franchises," said the statement of IPL.

"Farewell and best wishes on your next journey. Go well, HP!" said Gujarat Titans in a post on social media platform 'X.'

Most successful franchise in IPL history, Mumbai Indians welcomed Pandya after the official announcement on Monday.

"We are thrilled to welcome Hardik back home! It's a heartwarming reunion with our Mumbai Indians family! From being a young scouted talent of Mumbai Indians to now being a team India star, Hardik has come a long way and we're excited for what the future holds for him and Mumbai Indians!" said Nita Ambani.


Pandya's stint with Gujarat Titans
Hardik Pandya was first picked by Mumbai Indians back in 2015. He played with the Mumbai-based franchise for seven years before he was dropped in 2022.

Later, he was picked by Gujarat Titans where he was the captain of the new team. He has led a successful campaign with Titans in IPL tournaments for the last two years.

He was able to help the team win the title back in 2022. In 2023, while Titans lost to Chennai Super Kings in the final.
