IPL Full Schedule 2024: Final to be played in Chennai on May 26. Here are all the details

The long-awaited moment has arrived as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the remaining schedule of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday, with the final set to take place in Chennai on May 26.

All 74 matches of the tournament are slated to occur within India, carefully considering the polling dates and venues for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections across the nation. The pivotal stages of the competition are poised to unfold in Ahmedabad and Chennai.

The Lok Sabha election is scheduled to occur in seven phases across the country from April 19 to June 1.


Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator are set to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 21 and 22, respectively. Subsequently, Qualifier 2 and the highly anticipated final showdown will grace the iconic Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on May 24 and 26, respectively.

Amidst speculations, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had earlier clarified that IPL 2024 will be an all-India affair, quelling any rumors of matches being held in the UAE. The league's second phase will kick off with a showdown between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at Chepauk on April 8, with the defending champions set to dazzle under the night sky.

Noteworthy clashes await fans across India as the tournament progresses. Dharamsala will witness Punjab Kings in action against Chennai Super Kings on May 5 and Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 9. Meanwhile, Guwahati, serving as the secondary venue for Rajasthan Royals, will host exhilarating encounters on May 15 against Punjab Kings and on May 19 against Kolkata Knight Riders, marking the culmination of the league phase.
