IPL Auction: Yash Dayal picked by RCB for Rs 5 crore, Kartik Tyagi moves to GT
In a riveting display of high-stakes bids and intense competition, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Auction witnessed the spotlight shining on uncapped bowlers. The event unfolded with Yash Dayal, a promising left-arm fast bowler, fetching a substantial deal of Rs 5 crore from the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Simultaneously, Manimaran Siddharth, a Tamil Nadu left-arm orthodox spinner, was secured by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for Rs 2.4 crore.

The auction floor buzzed with excitement as franchises vied fiercely for their preferred uncapped talents. Dayal's journey to RCB was marked by an intense bidding war, with the Gujarat Titans initially showing interest. However, RCB's need for a left-arm quick led them to persistently escalate their bid until sealing the deal at a remarkable Rs 5 crore.

Sushant Mishra, a U19 World Cup player, found his new home with the Titans for Rs 2.20 crore after an animated bidding tussle involving the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Akash Singh, the left-arm fast bowler with a modest base price, landed with the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the same amount.

The auction drama further unfolded with Kartik Tyagi, a right-arm quick, triggering a fierce contest between the Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, and Gujarat Titans. Eventually, Tyagi went to the Titans for Rs 60 lakh after an intense bidding frenzy.

Manav Suthar, acknowledged for his role as a net bowler in the previous season, swiftly found a place with the Gujarat Titans. Meanwhile, M. Siddharth's bidding war ensued between Lucknow Super Giants and RCB, culminating in Siddharth joining the Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 2.4 crore.

However, despite the fervent bidding, uncapped Indian pacers such as Kuldip Yadav, Ishan Porel, and Rasikh Dar failed to secure deals. Similarly, uncapped spinners like Shiva Singh, Murugan Ashwin, and Pulkit Narang did not attract any bids during the auction.
