NEW DELHI: Indian Olympic Association President N Ramachandran has been appointed as a vice-chair of the Association of National Olympic Committees' (ANOC) International Relations Commission, the IOA said today.

ANOC President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah said in a letter issued yesterday that in "consultation with the ANOC vice-presidents, we decided on March 13, 2015 to appoint you as a vice-chair of the ANOC International Relations Commission for 2015".

The ANOC President further said, "When he took on the task of President of ANOC he presented some visions for the future of ANOC and one of them was to create working commissions with experts to help to develop the work of ANOC."

ANOC is an influential body comprising 205 National Olympic Committees recognised by the International Olympic Committee, covering the five continents. It was established in 1979 and has its headquarters in Lausanne in Switzerland.
