India's lowest test score: NZ bowls out Rohit Sharma & Co at 46; Here are India's five lowest scores in test

In what will be India's one of the poorest performance in test format, men's cricket team was reduced to just 46 with nine wickets down. While rains spoiled prevoius days, India's performance remained poor as it was only able to score mere 46 against the Kiwis.

India's previous lowest at home was 75 against the West Indies in New Delhi in 1987. Their lowest overall was 36 against Australia in a pink-ball Adelaide Test in 2020.

New Zealand's quick bowlers wreaked havoc in overcast conditions as they reduced hosts India to 46 at lunch on the second day of their rain-hit opening test on Thursday.


Rishabh Pant was 15 not out at the break after rain, which had washed out the opening day's action, briefly halted proceedings midway through the session.

William O'Rourke was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3-13, with India in danger of folding for their lowest total at home since making 75 against the West Indies in New Delhi in 1987.

Rohit Sharma was fortunate to survive a loud appeal for lbw from Matt Henry in the morning, after the hosts won the toss and elected to bat in a seamer-friendly environment under lights at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
