India's B-team could reach Champions Trophy final: Michael Vaughan
Michael Vaughan praised India's bench strength after their Champions Trophy win, suggesting even a secondary team could reach the finals. India's consistent performance led by Rohit Sharma, with contributions from Yadav, Chakravarthy, Iyer, and ot...

Taking to social media platform X, Vaughan said that even India's second sting side could have made it to the final of the Champions Trophy.
“Jaiswal, Varma, Sharma, SKY, Pant, Reddy, Sundar, Chahal, Arshdeep, Bumrah & Bishnoi… This team would have made it to the final as well IMO. The strength in Indian cricket in white-ball is off the scale,” he wrote.
Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma, won the tournament without dropping a single match. In the final, they beat New Zealand by four wickets.
Sharma’s stroke-filled 76 off 83 balls set the tone in a tricky chase of 252 runs. Despite a few hiccups, India cruised home with an over to spare.
Vaughan's comments come after he had earlier jokingly said that the tournament is being hosted in Dubai and that the venue had become the home ground for India as they did not travel elsewhere.
However, India has been consistent across formats, and Vaughan's most recent comments highlight the incredible depth of talent in Indian cricket.
The list he shared includes several promising young players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, and Rinku Singh, along with experienced campaigners such as Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah.
