During a YouTube show, Virat Kohli had referred to Rohit Sharma's forgetful side of things, saying that the Indian skipper has a habit of misplacing things. “The number of things Rohit Sharma forgets, I have never seen anyone else being this forgetful. iPad, wallet, phone, not the small things, but things for daily use. He (Rohit Sharma) has forgotten his passport two or three times. It was very hard to retrieve it," Kohli had said in an episode of the YouTube show Breakfast with Champions.
In a Rajkot match, Rohit Sharma was in magnificent form, scoring 81 runs, and in the process became only the second batter in the history of cricket to score more than 550 sixes in international cricket. His 81 included six sixes which took his tally to 551 sixes in international cricket and joined the former West Indies star opener Chris Gayle who has amassed 553 sixes over his decorated career. Rohit's heroics with the bat weren't enough to take India across the finishing line as India bundled out on 286 while chasing a target of 353.
The Indian team on Thursday reached Guwahati ahead of the warm-up match against England on September 30. Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who was added to India's 15-player squad for the World Cup 2023 as a replacement for Axar Patel who failed to recover in time for the World Cup after sustaining a left quadriceps strain during India’s Asia Cup Super Four encounter against Bangladesh.
India will begin their World Cup campaign on October 7 against five-time Champions Australia. Before the tournament, Rohit Sharma's men will play two warm-up fixtures, the first against England on September 30 followed by the Netherlands on October 3.
