The cricketer has filed a formal police complaint, alleging misconduct. Following an incident where he consumed a liquid from a pouch, mistakenly thinking it was water left on his seat during an IndiGo Airlines flight, he is now considered to be out of immediate danger.
"Mayank Agarwal, an internationally recognized cricket player, is currently in a stable condition with normal vital signs. However, his manager has lodged a specific complaint under NCCPS (New Capital Complex Police Station) for further investigation," stated SP West Tripura Kiran Kumar to PTI.
In regards to the incident, the senior police officer added, "According to his manager, while on the plane, there was a pouch in front of him. He took a small sip, but suddenly experienced irritation in his mouth and lost the ability to speak. He was subsequently taken to ILS hospital, where he was found to have swelling and ulcers in the mouth. Despite these complications, his overall vital signs remain stable."
Mayank Agarwal complained of a throat issue during the flight, leading to his removal from the plane upon arrival in Agartala. The Karnataka State Cricket Association joint secretary, Shavir Tarapore, expressed the association's efforts to gather more information about the incident. Agarwal underwent tests after vomiting and feeling unease during the flight, subsequently ruling him out of the next game against Saurashtra, according to PTI reports.

Airline Statement and Incident Details
IndiGo, the airline involved in the incident, released a statement indicating that flight 6E 5177 from Agartala to Delhi returned to its origin due to a medical emergency. The statement did not provide specific details about the nature of the emergency. Agarwal, after being off-loaded, received immediate medical attention, and the aircraft resumed its journey to Delhi.
Sources suggest that Mayank Agarwal may have mistakenly consumed an unidentified transparent liquid, causing his discomfort mid-flight. While there are various theories surrounding the incident, the Tripura Cricket Association official highlighted ongoing tests to determine the cause. Agarwal is expected to return to Bengaluru once he is fit for travel.
Mayank Agarwal's unexpected health scare during the flight has prompted medical attention and his absence from the upcoming cricket match, with the team adapting to the situation as they await further updates on his condition.
