Sarita was miffed after losing her lightweight semi-final bout with South Korea’s Park Ji-na in the Asian Games.

GUWAHATI: Indian boxer L Sarita Devi said that she is preparing for gold medal in the Rio Games.

Sarita who will be fighting in the 60kg weight category in Rio has been handed a one year ban by the AIBA. Sarita was miffed after losing her lightweight semi-final bout with South Korea’s Park Ji-na in the Asian Games.

Sarita was not convinced about the judgment. She was in Guwahati on Saturday said, "Whole country stood by me, the government, sportsperson and everyone just supported me."

The boxer from Manipur, Sarita added that she is regaining her strides and training for Rio de Janeiro games. "During one year as I will not participate in any big event I will concentrate on training and will bring gold in the next Olympic for my country."
