India vs South Africa T20I: Sanju Samson and Tilak Verma take the bowlers to cleaners as India breaks several records in Johannesburg

Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma hammered unbeaten centuries as India posted a colossal 283 for 1 in the fourth and final T20 International against South Africa on Friday.

The duo’s partnership helped India set a new benchmark for T20I batting, with both players crafting match-winning centuries in what was a historic first for Indian cricket.

Tilak Varma was in sensational form, blasting 120 not out off just 47 balls. His remarkable innings featured 9 boundaries and 10 sixes, as he unleashed a flurry of attacking strokes to take India to an imposing total.


Sanju Samson, not to be outdone, contributed with a brilliant 109 not out off 56 balls, striking 6 fours and 9 sixes in a composed and aggressive knock.

Together, the pair dominated the South African attack, propelling India to a total that was both daunting and historic.

Despite the heavy onslaught from the Indian batsmen, Lutho Sipamla was the only South African bowler to make a breakthrough, claiming the sole wicket of the innings.

Sipamla finished with figures of 1 for 58 in his 4 overs, as the rest of the South African bowlers struggled to contain the rampant Indian duo.

India's explosive total of 283/1 marked a series of milestones, both in terms of individual achievements and team records. Varma's 120 and Samson's 109 not out not only propelled India to their highest-ever T20I total but also ensured they recorded the highest partnership for any wicket in a T20I match for India.
