India vs Pakistan: Saud Shakeel scores half-century against Rohit Sharma's team in crucial Champions Trophy clash

Following quick wickets, Pakistan's Saud Shakeel snapped a fifty against Rohit Sharma-led India in 63 deliveries in Dubai on Sunday during the Champions Trophy 2025.

Saud Shakeel's 50 comes at a crucial time as India had picked the wickets of Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq in back-to-back overs. Pakistan were 47 for loss of 2 wickets when captain Mohammed Rizwan joined him to steady the ship.

Saud Shakeel debuted fo Pakistan in ODIS against England in 2021. He has played 18 ODI matches and scored 346 runs. His highest score is 68 and averages 24.71 in ODIs.


Hardik Pandya provided India’s first breakthrough by dismissing Babar Azam, who looked dangerous after hitting five quick boundaries. Babar edged an away-going delivery and was caught behind, departing for 23 off 26 balls without a six.

Axar Patel struck soon after with a sharp direct hit from mid-on, running out Imam-ul-Haq for 10 off 26 deliveries. Imam stepped out but failed to beat Axar’s quick throw, falling short of his crease despite a late dive.

Following these early setbacks, Mohammed Rizwan and Saud Shakeel attempted to stabilise Pakistan’s innings, but boundaries dried up, with the team managing just one four in 32 deliveries. By the 20th over, Pakistan had already gone 79 balls without scoring a run.

Rizwan and Saud later found occasional boundaries, forcing India to work hard to break their partnership.
