India vs Paksitan Champions Trophy: Hardik Pandya gave Babar Azam a cheeky send-off after dismissing him, providing India with a crucial breakthrough in their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash against Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday.

Pakistan, after winning the toss and opting to bat, got off to a steady start, but Pandya’s strike in the ninth over shifted the momentum in India’s favour.

Just as Babar Azam was finding his rhythm, hitting five boundaries in quick succession, Pandya bowled a perfect away-swinging delivery that took the edge and was caught behind.

Replacing Mohammed Shami in the attack, Pandya delivered India’s first breakthrough of the day. Babar managed 23 runs off 26 balls at a strike rate of 88.46, without hitting a six.

Shortly after, Axar Patel pulled off a sharp direct hit from mid-on, catching Imam-ul-Haq short of his crease.

Imam stepped out once again and pushed the ball straight to Axar, who reacted quickly, collected cleanly, and fired a direct throw at the stumps at the bowler’s end.

A desperate dive from Imam wasn’t enough to save him, and he was dismissed after scoring 10 runs off 26 deliveries.

Pakistan selected Imam-ul-Haq in place of Fakhar Zaman, who was ruled out of the match due to injury.
