Team India is expected to make at least two changes in to the playing 11 for the second Test against Australia starting Friday. The day-night match will be played at Adelaide with a pink ball.

Captain Rohit Sharma is likely to replace Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel is set to make way for Shubman Gill.

Sharma said he will bat "somewhere in the middle-order", allowing K L Rahul to continue in the opening slot. The Karnataka batter looked solid with scores of 26 and 77. He combined with fellow opener Yashasvi Jaiswal for a 201-run opening stand during the second innings of the first Test in Perth, which India won by 295 runs.

"He (Rahul) will open the innings. I will play somewhere in the middle," Rohit told reporters on the eve of the second Test.

Sharma is returning to the side after a short paternity break for the birth of his son. The skipper said that continuity would be beneficial for the team.

The captain had also batted in the middle order during the tour game vs Prime Minister's XI. Rahul, meanwhile, did the opener's job.

The bowling department is expected to remain the same with Washington Sundar continuing as the only spinner despite Ravichandran Ashwin's excellent record at Adelaide.

For the hosts, Scott Boland has replaced the injured Josh Hazlewood. It is the only change for Australia despite a 295-run drubbing in Perth. The 35-year-old pacer will play his first Test match since last year's Ashes.

Mitchell Marsh has been passed fit to bowl. The allrounder had pulled up sore after bowling 17 overs in Perth, which prompted selectors to add uncapped all-rounder Beau Webster as injury cover.

Australia captain pat Cummins said he expected Marsh to bowl at some stage in the day-night Test despite carrying a reported back injury and not bowling at training.
