India dominate New Zealand in 3rd T20, secure 3-0 series lead with record chase

India beat New Zealand by 8 wickets in 3rd T20 at Guwahati to take unassailable 3-0 lead in 5-match series. Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India chased down a target of 154 in a stunning 10 overs to secure an eight-wicket victory in the third T20I, sealing an unassailable 3–0 lead in the five-match series. The win at the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Stadium in Barsapara, Guwahati, on January 25 (Sunday) ranks among the fastest successful chases of a 150-plus total in T20 history.

Abhishek Sharma blazed his way to a 14-ball fifty — the second fastest by an Indian, only behind Yuvraj Singh’s iconic 12-ball effort in Durban. Sanju Samson’s struggles continued, while Ishan Kishan and Abhishek went on a hitting spree during the chase. Ish Sodhi eventually broke the stand by dismissing Ishan, with Suryakumar Yadav now at the crease as India went full throttle in pursuit of 154 to seal an unassailable 3–0 series lead.

Earlier, India won the toss and chose to bowl. Making his international return after 11 months, Ravi Bishnoi impressed with two wickets. Hardik Pandya starred in the field with a stunning catch off Harshit Rana’s bowling to remove Devon Conway and also chipped in with two wickets, dismissing Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell. Jasprit Bumrah capped off a dominant bowling display with exceptional figures of 3 for 17 from his four overs.
