Despite a poor leg-before decision of Shikhar Dhawan, India strolled to an easy victory over the West Indies for their second win of the Twenty20 tournament. Virat Kohli (54) and Rohit Sharma (62) saw India through with assured half-centuries, never letting the run rate get the better of the batting side.

Earlier, Indian spinners put on a sterling show to restrict defending champions West Indies to 129 for seven in 20 overs. The trio of Ravindra Jadeja (3/48), Amit Mishra (2/18) and Ravichandran Ashwin (1/24) did well to tie down the West Indies.

Chris Gayle was the top scorer with 34 while Lendl Simmons made 27. Mishra was the most miserly of the lot giving away just 18 runs in his four overs, while Jadeja got some stick from Simmons, but picked up crucial wicket of Darren Sammy.

Put in by India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the West Indies batsmen made a slow start scoring five runs from the first three overs and couldn’t recover from it.

Pakistan beats Australia

Umar Akmal smashed 94 as Pakistan beat Australia by 16 runs. Pakistan scored 191, in reply to which Australia were bowled out for 175, despite A spectacular third wicket partnership of 118 from 64 balls between Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Finch.
