Ind vs Ban Predicted Playing 11: Will India play Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy against Bangladesh in Champions Trophy 2025?

India will take on Bangladesh in their first match of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Thursday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Men in Blue enter the tournament as one of the favourites to lift the title.

However, they have a few selection headaches. The challenges are in the bowling department in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.

India is expected to play a three spinner, three pacer attack.

Mohammed Shami will lead the pace attack but the management will have to choose between Harshit Rana and left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, both of whom lack experience in the format.

There is a question of who the third spinner would be, with Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel most likely to start. There is only one slot for either Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav or mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy.

Bangladesh will be playing Champions Trophy 2025 without their legendary all-rounder Shakib al Hasan after his bowling action was reported.

Bangladesh had their best-ever Champions Trophy in 2017 when they reached the semi-final, only to lose to India. They enter this edition as an unfancied side, but have the arsenal of fast bowlers, including Mustafizur Rahman, Nahid Rana and Taskin Ahmed to trouble the Indian batters.

They have ample experience in the batting order with the likes of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahamudullah, along with captain Najmul Hossian Shanto and Soumya Sarkar.

Their best player over the past couple of years has been Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who bowls off spin and is a handy batter down the order.
