After winning the toss, Pakistan U1-19 posted a competitive total of 281/7 in 50 overs. Opener Shahzid Khan, played a brilliant knock of 159 runs off 147 balls. The 19-year-old smashed 10 sixes and five fours. His opening partner Usman Khan got 60 runs off 94 balls with six fours. The duo added 160 runs in 184 balls for the first wicket.
However, the team collapsed from 241/2 to 274/7 and finally ended with 281 runs on the board. For India, 19-year-old pacer Samarth Nagaraj picked three wickets, while 17-year-old spinner Ayush Mhtre took a couple of wickets.
The Indian top order did not post the required runs, and collapsed to 81/4 in the 21st over. They further slumped to 174/6 and 190/9 before finally being bowled out for 237, giving Pakistan U19 a 44-run win.
All-rounder Nikhil Kumar top scored for India with 67 runs off 77 balls, which included six fours and three sixes. Batting at number 10, Mohamed Enaan scored 30 runs off 22 balls to save India from a humiliation.
13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who was picked by Rajasthan Royals in the recently concluded IPL 2025 mega auction for Rs 1.1 crore, scored just one run off nine balls. With the selection, he has become the youngest player in IPL history.
