It was an emotional moment for fans: Cricketing legend MS Dhoni signing his autograph on the shift of another legend, Sunil Gavaskar. The incident occurred after CSK's match against KKR in which the Dhoni-led team lost by six wickets at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The indicent was later tweeted by CSK, with the caption, "This goes straight into our hearts!" The KKR match also marked the end of CSK's set of home matches ahead of the playoffs. So Dhoni and other CSK stars took a lap of honour around the Chepauk Stadium to thank the fans for their support. As the CSK team were taking a lap of honour around the stadium, Gavaskar ran towards Dhoni and took his autograph.

Fans also penned emotional posts on social media. "This is what our THALA Dhoni has earned in his life. One legend comes to another legend like a little child for a autograph. This is really a very emotional moment. I was in tears when I watched this on TV," wrote @rshah2611.

@PraveenBalusu1 tweeted: "This is really a very emotional moment. I was in tears when I watched this on TV.. Hope I stand the chance to get this on one fine day from our Thala.."

Riding on Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh99-run partnership off 76 balls for the fourth wicket, Kolkata chased down CSK's 144/6 with nine balls to spare. While Rana was unbeaten on 57 off 44 balls, Rinku was impressive in scoring 54 off 43 balls.

The win also means that Kolkata are still alive in the race to Playoffs, while Chennai, still in second place, need a victory in their last league match against Delhi Capitals on May 20 to get a spot in the last four.

Sunil Gavaskar, considered by many as one of the greatest batters ever, represented India in 125 Tests from 1971-1987, scoring 10,122 runs at an average of 51.12 with 34 centuries and 45 fifties. He also played 108 ODIs, scoring 3,092 runs at an average of over 35 with a century and 13 fifties.
