India have won the Men’s T20 World Cup twice.

2007 – South Africa

This was not supposed to be India’s format. Seniors had opted out, expectations were low, and the team was young enough to not know what pressure really meant.

2024 – West Indies & USA

Seventeen years later, the circle finally closed.

Under Rohit Sharma, India went unbeaten through the tournament, defeated South Africa in the final, and ended an 11-year wait for an ICC title. Relief washed over fans first. Pride followed soon after.

The ODI World Cups

India have won the Men’s ODI World Cup twice.

1983 – England

Everything traces back to this.

Kapil Dev’s team walking into Lord’s against the invincible West Indies and walking out with the trophy remains the greatest upset cricket has ever seen. Indian cricket before 1983 and after it are two different stories.

2011 – India

A home World Cup brings its own kind of pressure. MS Dhoni absorbed it all -- and finished it with a six. Beating Sri Lanka at a packed Wankhede, India lifted their second ODI World Cup, fulfilling a promise that had lingered for nearly three decades.

Women’s ODI World Cup title

2025 – India

Indian women’s cricket finally got its crowning moment. Beating South Africa by 52 runs in the final in Navi Mumbai, the team lifted their first-ever ICC Women’s ODI World Cup.

It wasn’t just a win -- it was validation of years of quiet progress, limited resources, and relentless fight.

Champions Trophy

India have won the ICC Champions Trophy three times.

2002 – Sri Lanka (joint winners): Rain intervened, but Sourav Ganguly’s team still took India’s first Champions Trophy.

2013 – England: MS Dhoni completed the full set, leading India to a dominant title win.

2025 – Dubai: Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten side beat New Zealand by four wickets, making India the most successful Champions Trophy team in history.
