ICC Cricket Committee to meet in Mumbai on May 15-16

NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council has said that its annual ICC Cricket Committee meeting will be held in Mumbai on May 15 and 16.

The council will discuss a variety of topics over the two day meeting. This would include the important issue of balance between bat and ball in all three formats, ICC playing conditions, including a post-ICC Cricket World Cup review, use of technology in umpiring, code of conduct, including player behavior and also illegal bowling actions

The ICC Cricket Committee is chaired by former India captain and spinner Anil Kumble. It includes representatives from various stakeholders of the game of cricket.

The ICC said in a release that the Cricket Committee’s remit is to discuss cricket-playing matters and to make recommendations to the ICC Chief Executives’ Committee and the ICC Board that will meet in Barbados during the ICC’s annual conference week later this year, from June 22-26.

Apart from the chairman Anil Kumble, the ICC Cricket Committee comprises ex-officio members such as ICC chairman N Srinivasan and ICC chief executive David Richardson, former Australia captain Mark Taylor, current player representative Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, who bowled leg-spin for India, full member team coach representative Darren Lehmann, who is also the coach for the Australian team, women’s cricket representative Clare Connor, who was earlier the captain of the England women’s team, media representative Ravi Shastri, a former India captain and spinner, umpires’ representative Steve Davis, referees’ representative Ranjan Madugalle, MCC representative John Stephenson and Statistician representative David Kendix.
