'I am back. I am hungry, Ami KKR': Gautam Gambhir after rejoining KKR
Gautam Gambhir penned down an emotional note after he ended his stint with Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the Indian Premier League 2024 season. He is set to rejoin Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the team he led to IPL glory in 2012.

Gambhir, who served as LSG's mentor for two years, played a key role in the team's consistent third-place finishes in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons, reaching the playoffs but being eliminated by Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, respectively.
Gambhir, who led KKR to IPL glory in 2012, tweeted: I am back. I am hungry. I am number 23. Ami KKR."
Earlier reflecting on his return to KKR, Gambhir said, "I am not a sentimental person, and not many things stir me. But this is different. This is a return to where it all began. Today, there is a lump in my throat and fire in my heart as I think about donning that purple and gold jersey once again. I am not just returning to KKR; I am returning to the City of Joy."
Gambhir has also penned down an emotional note after he ended his stint with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), thanking everyone at the franchise for making his time "memorable".
In his illustrious career, Gambhir, a key figure for KKR from 2011 to 2017, secured two IPL titles, qualified for the playoffs five times, and reached the finals of the Champions League T20 in 2014. Additionally, he played a crucial role in India's victories in the T20I World Cup (2007) and the ODI World Cup (2011).
