NEW DELHI: Decorated with a Padma award today by the President, badminton ace Saina Nehwal said she hopes to "continue to make India proud" through her exploits in the sporting arena.

The 26-year Hyderabadi said she was "very happy" after receiving the nation's third highest civilian honour -- the Padma Bhushan -- from President Pranab Mukherjee at the Civil Investiture ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

"It's a great moment, a proud moment. I am very very happy. My parents are very happy," she said, adding that she hopes "to continue to make India proud".
