Brandon King and Nicholas Pooran's counterattacks propelled the West Indies toward victory, securing a 52-run partnership with Shai Hope to chase down the target in just 18 overs
After making a comeback in the third and fourth T20Is, the Hardik Pandya led young Indian side managed to take the five-match T20I series against the West Indies to the decider, but on Sunday, they were outclassed by the West Indies in the fifth match to lose the series 2-3.

The thrilling five-match T20I series between India and the West Indies decided the series winner. Despite the spirited efforts of the Hardik Pandya-led Indian side, the West Indies demonstrated their prowess and secured victory in the fifth and final match. This triumph propelled the West Indies to a 3-2 series win.

No team has made a successful comeback from 0-2 down in the T20I series but India still failed to change the outcome in the deciding match in Florida.

The series witnessed a pivotal point as India sought to mount an impressive comeback from a 0-2 deficit. However, history proved to be a formidable adversary as no team has ever successfully reversed such a position in the T20I series. India's valiant efforts to alter the course of the series ultimately fell short in the deciding match held in Florida.

Here's how India lost the series decider against the West Indies: Openers fell cheaply
The young opening pair of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who recently set a record 165-run partnership, faltered in the series decider. Both fell victim to Akeal Hosein's spin in the early overs, leaving India at 17/2 within 2.5 overs.

No support for Surya
Suryakumar Yadav, positioned at No.3, admirably anchored India's innings. However, he lacked substantial support from the other end. After a promising 49-run partnership between Surya and Tilak Varma, India's batting order witnessed a steady collapse, hampering their efforts to set a competitive total.

Batting collapse
Following a commendable 43-run stand between Suryakumar Yadav and skipper Hardik Pandya, India's batting order crumbled. Despite reaching 130/4 in 16.1 overs, India's last five wickets fell for a mere 35 runs in just 3.5 overs, culminating in a total of 165/9 within their allotted 20 overs.

Rain stoppages and ineffective spinners
Rain intervened twice during India's innings, impacting the match's flow. The wet conditions altered India's spinners' effectiveness, with Akeal Hosein and Roston Chase claiming wickets for the West Indies. In contrast, India's spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal returned wicketless due to the challenging pitch conditions.

Pooran and King's counter-attack
Brandon King and Nicholas Pooran executed a masterful counter-attack against the Indian bowlers. Their aggressive intent, marked by quick scoring and well-timed shots, resulted in a rapid 107-run partnership that propelled the West Indies toward victory.

The finishing touch
Tilak Varma made a belated breakthrough by dismissing Nicholas Pooran in the 14th over. However, Brandon King and Shai Hope secured the match for the West Indies, building an unbroken 52-run partnership. West Indies successfully chased down the target in just 18 overs, sealing their series victory with a resounding win.
