GT IPL Retentions 2025: Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan to make a comeback; check Gujarat Titans' list of retained players here

With the much anticipated auctions for the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League on the horizon, Gujarat Titans will be retaining star batsman Shubman Gill and spinner Rashid Khan, the IPL franchise confirmed on Thursday.

Notably, Gill was bought by Titans for Rs 8 crore before the 2022 season.

At 25, Gill has played 103 IPL matches, with an average near 38 and a strike rate of 129. Under IPL's new retention guidelines, a team will spend Rs 18 crore for the first retained player, Rs 14 crore for the second, Rs 11 crore for the third, and Rs 4 crore for each uncapped player.

Shubman Gill retained for Rs. 16.5 crores
Rashid Khan retained for Rs. 18 crores
Sai Sudharsan retained for Rs. 8.5 crores
Rahul Tewatia retained for Rs. 4 crores
Shahrukh Khan retained for Rs. 4 crores

The new salary structure for IPL players includes an auction purse, performance pay, and match fees, with the latter set at Rs 7.5 lakh per game for the next season. Teams can retain up to six players using retention or right to match cards, the most in IPL history.

BCCI has revised the rules for this year, allowing teams to retain a maximum of six players, with up to five being capped players and two uncapped.

Teams can also use 'Right to Match' cards, with the number equal to six minus the number of direct retentions. For instance, if three players are retained, three RTM cards can be used.
