Netflix inks deal for men’s FIFA World Cup 2030

Netflix Inc. secured exclusive broadcasting rights in host nation Spain and Andorra for the men’s FIFA World Cup in 2030, the OTT platform announced on Tuesday.

As FIFA World Cup 203 marks the 100th anniversary of the world’s largest soccer tournament, defending champion Spain is set to serve as one of the competition’s three host nations, alongside Morocco and Portugal.

Netflix did not disclose the terms of the deal that includes full live coverage of all 104 matches, including pregame, halftime and postgame shows, a daily roundup show on match days, and additional programming in the tournament lead-up.

“Few events unite people like the World Cup,” said Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer at Netflix. “ With Spain set to host in 2030, we’re thrilled to bring every match to fans across Spain and Andorra on Netflix.”

The 2030 FIFA World Cup is set to begin on June 8, 2030, and conclude on July 21, 2030.

Speaking about the latest partnership with Netflix, Mattias Grafström, FIFA Secretary General said, "We are pleased to build on our partnership with Netflix as we look ahead to the FIFA World Cup 2030. This will be a special edition of the tournament, and we look forward to working together to bring it to fans across Spain and Andorra."

Who will host World Cup 2030?

Morocco, Portugal, and Spain are chosen as official hosts of the FIFA World Cup 2030.

Meanwhile, Uruguay (the 1930 host and champion), Argentina (the 1930 runner-up), and Paraguay (the home of CONMEBOL, the only confederation in 1930) will each host a centenary celebration match.

Our expanding partnership with FIFA, including the Women’s World Cup in 2027 and 2031 for the US and Canada, reflects our continued commitment to bringing fans closer to the world’s biggest sports moments, said Bajaria.
