JSW MG Motor India has become the Indian Super League’s title sponsor for 2026-27, with the competition renamed the MG Indian Super League after three seasons without a title partner.
The Indian Super League (ISL) has secured a title sponsor for the 2026-27 season, with JSW MG Motor India coming on board after three seasons without a title partner. The league will be known as the MG Indian Super League.

The partnership comes as the ISL enters a new club-led commercial era. The upcoming season, which will return to a full home-and-away format, is set to begin on October 10, with 13 clubs competing across the country.

“We are delighted to welcome MG as the Title Sponsor of the Indian Super League at an important moment in the league’s journey. The return of a title sponsor after three seasons is a significant milestone and a strong reflection of the belief and opportunity around Indian football,” said Karan Yadav, CEO of the ISL.

“As a club-led league, we are entering a new chapter with a clear ambition to build a stronger, more commercially sustainable and fan-focused ISL,” he added.

The financial terms of the sponsorship deal were not disclosed.

JSW MG Motor India, a joint venture between China's SAIC Motor and India's JSW Group, sells vehicles under the MG marque, which originated in Britain in 1924. The ISL deal gives the Indian joint venture a national platform to deepen its engagement with football fans.

MG's international football associations include its partnership with Liverpool FC as the club's Official Global Car Partner and a multi-year partnership with Arsenal through MG Motor UK. In India, MG Motor India has supported grassroots football, including the Patan Girls team from Gujarat, through infrastructure and community-development initiatives.

The company has also backed women in sport through partnerships with golfer Tvesa Malik, Paralympic medallist Bhavina Patel and Khel Ratna and Arjuna Awardee Deepa Malik.

“Our partnership with the Indian Super League is a natural progression of that journey, allowing us to take our engagement with football to a much larger national platform,” said Vinay Raina, chief commercial officer of JSW MG Motor India.

The season will open on October 10, with Bengaluru FC hosting Sporting Club Delhi at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, while FC Goa take on Chennaiyin FC at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa.
