'Fixer' abuse from the crowd: Pakistan's Mohammad Amir is in the news again
Mohammad Amir's career faced a setback due to his involvement in the spot-fixing scandal in England in 2010. The scandal led to ICC strengthening its policies against such incidents.

It has been more than 14 years now since that incident happened, which brought shame to the Pakistan cricket team and forced the International Cricket Council (ICC) to further bolster its policies to check such incidents, but Amir has still been encountering consequences stemming from his involvement in that incident.
Following a match at New York's Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, Amir once again found himself the target of fans' ire. In a viral social media video, spectators can be heard labeling him a "fixer" as he walked along the boundary line.
Here's the video:
Amir, who was handed a five-year ban by the ICC for his part in the scandal when he was just 18 years old, swiftly reacted to the taunts. He seemed visibly incensed and reportedly made an offensive gesture with his middle finger.
During the Super Over, Amir was the bowler for Pakistan, conceding 18 runs in an eight-ball over to the USA.
In response, Pakistan was restricted to 13/1, resulting in the USA clinching the thrilling Super Over victory.
In Pakistan's subsequent match against India, Amir delivered an exceptional four-over spell, giving away 23 runs and taking two wickets, contributing to the dismissal of Rohit Sharma's team for 119 runs.
Pakistan revived their hopes of reaching the Super Eight stage with a convincing seven-wicket win against Canada in their third match, during which Amir showcased an impressive performance, claiming figures of 2 for 13 in 4 overs and earning the Man of the Match award.
