Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves said India remains a "strategically important" market for the airline.
The partnership highlights Etihad's ongoing commitment to the Indian market and strengthens Mumbai City FC's status as one of India's top football teams, having secured two Indian Super League titles and two Indian Super League Cups, the companies said in a statement.
As part of the agreement, Etihad's logo will be prominently displayed on the front of Mumbai City FC’s match shirts and training kits for both the first and youth teams from the 2024-25 season onward.
“We are incredibly happy to bring Etihad on board as our Official Front of Shirt Sponsor. Their endorsement is a testament to the brand of football Mumbai City plays - one that is committed to performance and the pursuit of excellence on and off the field," said Kandarp Chandra, CEO of Mumbai City FC.
In celebration of 20 years of flying to India, Etihad will introduced its iconic A380 aircraft on the Mumbai-Abu Dhabi route from September 1 for a four-month period. The airline currently operates 175 flights per week between Abu Dhabi and 11 destinations across India, with four daily flights to Mumbai.
