Dhoni, Kohli to mark entry into NFT space with FanCraze

Both Dhoni and Kohli have entered into exclusive partnership with Web 3.0 company FanCraze to launch their player cards on FanCraze platform.

Former team India captains and two of the most popular cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli are set to launch their personal digital collectibles, or NFTs (non-fungible tokens) during the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Both Dhoni and Kohli have entered into exclusive partnership with Web 3.0 company FanCraze to launch their player cards on FanCraze platform.

“We view marquee athletes as artists who create their art on the field of play. We are very excited to partner with MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, the biggest stars cricket has ever produced, to build the new paradigm of engagement between cricketers and their fans,” said Anshum Bhambri, CEO, FanCraze. “We cannot wait to unlock new categories of collectibles, games and multi-modal digital experiences as we evangelise the Web 3.0 space in India and beyond.”


FanCraze’s other marquee partners include Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shreyas Iyer, Muthiah Muralidaran and Jonty Rhodes amongst others, as well as IPL teams such as Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals.

FanCraze currently has more than 120,000 video collectibles on its platform featuring the greatest moments in World Cup history, and is gearing up to launch new digital collectibles featuring video clips from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Cricket West Indies (CWI) and other cricket federations, as well as player cards of the aforementioned superstars and IPL teams.

Fans can pre-buy packs containing moments that have not even taken place yet as prt of FanCraze’s new ‘see now buy now’ experience, wherein drops take place a day before each T20 World Cup game and users buy these special ‘Crictos Of The Game’ packs via FanCraze’s randomised queue mechanism.
