Delhi to have representative in FIFA Congress

"The Delhi Soccer Assocation (DSA ) hails and congrulates AIFF president Praful Patel for considering its president & AIFF vice-president Subhash Chopra as one of the delegates for the 64th FIFA Congress," the DSA said in a statement.
The opening of the gathering of FIFA's Governing Body is scheduled on June 10 while the Congress would take place on the eve of Brazil's World Cup opener against Croatia in the same city.
The Congress, which has been taking place annualy since 1998, makes decisions relating to FIFA's governing statutes and the methods through which they are implemented and applied.
It also approves the annual report, decides on the acceptance of new national associations and holds elections, most notably for the FIFA presidency. In the spirit of true democracy, each national association has one vote, regardless of its size or footballing strength.
Mauritius hosted the last Congress with the next one set to take centrestage at the FIFA Headquarters in Zurich.
