IPL 2025, DC vs KKR: KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy, here are the key players to watch out for

Delhi Capitals will face the Kolkata Knight Riders test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi at 7:30 pm on Tuesday. The hosts are entering the match following a loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the same venue, while KKR’s encounter against Punjab Kings was washed out due to rain in Kolkata.

DC is led by Axar Patel and will be keen for a quick turnaround and will be hoping for the top order to deliver. The return of Faf du Plessis is a massive positive, while Abhishek Porel and Karun Nair have played good knocks but have not been consistent. KL Rahul, Patel and Tristan Stubbs have been the team’s engine room, with the majority of the runs. Ashutosh Sharma and Vipraj Nigam have been entrusted with the finishing role.

The bowling department has been dependent on Mitchell Starc and Kuldeep Yadav. The two have provided wickets regularly, while also containing runs. Patel has also found his rhythm and is looking dangerous with the ball. However, Mukesh Kumar, Dushmanta Chameera and Nigam have all been expensive and have remained largely ineffective.


KKR, on the other hand, have been searching for momentum throughout the tournament. Their top order has not delivered, while the middle order has no fixed batting positions. Captain Ajinkya Rahane has been the best batter and youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi has had major contributions. However, the experienced Venkatesh Iyer, Andre Russell and Rinku Singh are yet to deliver a match winning performance.

The pace bowling has also looked toothless, with them being too dependent on the Indian duo of Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora. The spin twins of Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine have been effective in the middle overs.

The match is crucial for KKR to stay alive in the tournament, while important for DC if they are aiming for a top 2 finish.
