The 37-year-old had an incredible international career with 8.786 runs in 112 Tests, 6,932 runs from 161 ODI matches, and 3.277 runs in 110 T20Is.
The left hander made his ODI and T20I debuts against South Africa in 2009. Warner earned his Test cap only two years later against New Zealand at the GABBA, Brisbane.
Warner was a part of the Australian team that won the ODI World Cup twice in 2015 and 2023. He also won the T20 World Cup in 2021. He won the World Test Championship in 2022, to complete the achievement of all the top ICC events.
Warner’s illustrious career, however, came with its share of controversies.
In 2013, He was accused of attacking England batter Joe Root in a pub in Birmingham. He was suspended for three matches and was fined for his actions.
Warner was banned for a year after being involved in a ball tampering scandal in 2018. Vice captain of the Australian team at the time, he was also barred from captaining any Australian side for life.
The opener, known for his explosive batting, has played several match winning knocks for Australia in all three formats. He is regarded as one of the best openers Australia has ever produced.
