CSK vs RR match had 2.2 crore concurrent users: Viacom18

The Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals match on JioCinema had a concurrent viewership of 2.2 Crore, as per data shared by Viacom18.

It added that the match has set a new record for achieving the highest concurrent viewership for an Indian Premier League (IPL) match.

Earlier, Disney+ Hotstar held the record for the highest concurrent viewership with 1.86 crore concurrent users watching the final match of the 2019 season.


JioCinema’s free streaming of the IPL 2023 for all viewers in India has resulted in record-breaking 550 crore views in the first week, the company said.

In the first weekend, the tournament had amassed 147 crore video views. Additionally, JioCinema registered the highest-ever number for any apps installed.

In terms of sponsorships and advertisers, JioCinema has roped in 23 marquee sponsors for the tournament, along with most top brands in the country as advertisers.

Earlier, JioCinema had recorded the highest-ever opening weekend for the tournament on digital with over 147 crore video views.

The company had stated that the average time spent per viewer per match touched 57 minutes.

Viacom18 had also disclosed that JioCinema had attracted over 10 crore new viewers and witnessed 5 crore new app downloads during the weekend.
