Cricketer Harbhajan Singh's takeaway from World Cup Final: Play football, not Hindu-Muslim

FIFA World Cup 2018 was an entertaining affair for all the soccer fans around the world. A month-long roller-coaster ride was full of heartbreaks and shocks. The blockbuster clashes, enthralling goals and shocking results concluded with France taking home the FIFA trophy. While most people enjoyed the intricacies of "the beautiful game", cricket player Harbhajan Singh found a unique insight.

The Indian spinner, who is known to speak his mind, seems to be upset with the frequent reports of Hindu-Muslim conflict in the country. Harbhajan used Croatia's achievement at FIFA World Cup 2018 to drive home a lesson in communal harmony.

Taking to the microblogging website, Twitter, he used the hashtag 'soch badlo desh badlega' to say, "Croatia, a country with 50 lakh population, will play the FIFA World Cup final, while we in India, with a population of 135 crore, are playing “Hindu Muslim”.



Croatia, which was formed in 1991 made its debut in the world cup in 1998. In a series of many firsts, the country defeated Nigeria, Iceland and Lionel Messi's Argentina in Group D. In the round of 16, Croatia won against Denmark and then stormed into semi finals by defeating Russia.
