Veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has returned to India's T20I setup after four years, while Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant feature among the prominent names in the squads announced by the BCCI on Tuesday for the upcoming tour of New Zealand.

Iyer will captain India's 16-member T20I squad, with Tilak Varma as his deputy. Bhuvneshwar's recall is the most notable selection development, with the experienced seamer included alongside Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav and Mayank Yadav in the bowling group.

The T20I squad also includes Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, Shivam Dube, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Naman Dhir and Prince Yadav.

India will play five T20Is against New Zealand, beginning in Christchurch on October 22. The second T20I will also be played in Christchurch on October 24, followed by matches in Wellington on October 27, Auckland on October 30 and Hamilton on November 1.

The BCCI said the squads for the ODI and Test series on the New Zealand tour will be announced later.

For the parallel India A tour, Dhruv Jurel has been named captain of a 15-member squad that includes Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Devdutt Padikkal, Ravichandran Smaran, Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar, Sai Sudarsan and Akash Deep.

Pant has been selected subject to fitness. Jurel and Pant are both listed as wicketkeepers in the squad.

The India A squad also features Auqib Nabi, Anshul Kamboj, Manav Suthar, Mukesh Choudhary, Yash Rathod and Mukesh Kumar.

India A will play three multi-day matches against New Zealand A. The first will be held in Lincoln from October 24 to 27, followed by the second in Christchurch from October 31 to November 3. The third match will return to Lincoln from November 7 to 10.
