Asian Games cricket: India to face Sri Lanka in semifinals

The Indian men's cricket team is set to face Sri Lanka in the Asian Games cricket semifinal after the island nation's quarterfinal against Nepal was abandoned due to adverse weather conditions on Tuesday.

Sri Lanka made it to the semifinals owing to their higher ranking, similar to the case of Indian men's cricket team. While they are placed ninth in the team rankings, Nepal ranks at the 14th spot.

Nagoya has faced consistent rainfall over the past few days, leading to all four quarterfinals, including India's, being washed out.

The second Asian Games semifinal will be played between Pakistan and Bangladesh on Thursday.

The Indian men's team, led by Shreyas Iyer, is all set to play a game at the Korogi Sports Park, which also hosted the women's competition won by Harmanpreet Kaur and Co.
