The report said that the top bosses could agree to the outcome that has been suggested by the three central parties—the ICC, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Pakistan will most likely remain the official host of the ICC Champions Trophy, with 10 out of 15 matches being held across venues in the country. India’s three group stage matches, one semi-final, and the final are expected to take place in the United Arab Emirates.
“It is not clear if the BCCI has agreed to the PCB demand for a similar hybrid model for the ICC events conducted in India over the next few years—a bone of contention between the parties. But it is learnt that some middle ground has been reached on the matter. It is unlikely, though, that the BCCI would be giving any written assurances—the sticking point between the parties," the Cricbuzz report read.
India will be hosting the Women's ODI World Cup next year and co-hots the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 with Sri Lanka. Additionally, India also has the hosting rights for the Asia Cup in 2025, which will be played in T20I format.
In the last 16 years, Pakistan has travelled to India on four occasions. Of those four, three times it was for taking part in the ICC event, which was hosted by India.
