Bhuvneshwar Kumar joins Jasprit Bumrah in this elite club after he helps RCB crush Delhi Capitals

The veteran pacer returned stunning figures of 3 for 5, registering his 20th three-wicket haul in IPL history — becoming only the second pacer after Jasprit Bumrah (25) to reach the milestone. He now sits ahead of Lasith Malinga (19) and Harshal Patel (17) on the elite list.

The landmark came on a night of complete domination by RCB’s pace attack. Bhuvneshwar, along with Josh Hazlewood, dismantled Delhi’s batting unit in a ruthless powerplay burst. The carnage began early as Bhuvneshwar bowled debutant Sahil Parakh with a sharp inswinger, before Hazlewood struck twice in successive deliveries to remove KL Rahul and Sameer Rizvi.

Bhuvneshwar continued his dominance by dismissing Tristan Stubbs and captain Axar Patel, while Hazlewood accounted for Nitish Rana. In a stunning collapse, Delhi slumped to 8 for 6, managing just one boundary in the powerplay and crawling to 13 for 6 after six overs — among the worst starts in IPL history.


Delhi Capitals were eventually bowled out for 75 in 16.3 overs, narrowly avoiding the all-time lowest IPL total — 49 by RCB in 2017. Abhishek Porel (30), David Miller (19) and Kyle Jamieson (12) were the only batters to reach double figures.

Hazlewood fittingly wrapped up the innings by bowling Porel, capping a sensational spell of 4 for 12. While it was a collective pace assault, Bhuvneshwar’s milestone stood out, underlining his longevity and consistency as he joined Bumrah in an exclusive club of elite IPL pacers.
