BCCI announces India squad for Australia ODI series: Ashwin returns, KL Rahul to lead in 1st two matches

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced India's squad for the next tournament on Monday. India will take on Australia in a three-match ODI series, which is considered a big opportunity for both teams to test players and make a few adjustments ahead of the mega event, the ICC Cricket World Cup. The series opener will be played on September 22 in Mohali.

Wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul will lead the Men in Blue in the first two ODIs against Australia. Meanwhile, experienced spinner R Ashwin has also returned to the ODI set-up and will be with the team for all three matches. Senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested for the first two matches, but they will play in the final encounter.





For First two ODIs vs Australia: KL Rahul (C & WK), Ravindra Jadeja (Vice-captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Shardul Thakur, Washington Sundar, R Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Prasidh Krishna.

For third and final ODI vs Australia: Rohit Sharma (C), Hardik Pandya, (Vice-captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel*, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, R Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd.
