Barbados to issue commemorative silver coin for Cricket World Cup

The coin, spherical in the shape of a real cricket ball, has been printed with Water Transfer Technology.

KOLKATA: The eastern Carribean island of Barbados has decided to issue an unique, commemorative silver coin for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, which got underway in London on Thursday.

The coin, spherical in the shape of a real cricket ball, has been printed with Water Transfer Technology.

The coin is made of pure 999 silver and weighs 31.1 gram (1 oz) with a diametre of 33 mm. Only 2,500 pieces of the special edition coin will be available for collectors around the world.


Only a few pieces of these coins have been earmarked for sale in India. Kolkata based A G Impex is exclusively marketing it in India. The net price of the coin will be Rs 13,780 inclusive of all taxes.
