PV Sindhu clinches Hylo Open title with straight-game win over Denmark’s Kjærfeldt

Double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu clinched her second title of the season on Sunday, defeating Denmark’s Line Højmark Kjærfeldt in straight games to win the Hylo Open Super 500 badminton tournament in Saarbrücken, Germany.

The world No. 8 Indian defeated the 25th-ranked Dane 21-12, 21-14 in the 39-minute final of the USD 500,000 tournament, underlining her dominance with a controlled display of stroke-play.

The victory adds to Sindhu’s Japan Open triumph in July and comes a week after she finished runner-up at the French Open.

The second-seeded Indian also collected 9,200 ranking points from the tournament, strengthening her bid to qualify for the season-ending BWF World Tour Finals.

Sindhu extends winning record against Danish opponent

Sindhu entered the final with a commanding 6-1 head-to-head record against the eighth-seeded Kjærfeldt.

The Dane's only previous victory over the Indian came at the 2025 Sudirman Cup Finals.

A former world champion, Sindhu maintained control throughout Sunday's contest, limiting her opponent's opportunities as she wrapped up the title in 39 minutes.
