The team marked the birth of Rahul’s baby girl with a heartwarming cradle gesture after their emphatic victory against Lucknow Supergiants on March 24, 2025.

Moments after securing their first win of the IPL season, the DC squad, led by Axar Patel, gathered for a touching tribute. Coach Hemang Badani, mentor Kevin Pietersen, Tristan Stubbs, and Jake Fraser-McGurk joined in, making the universal cradling gesture to welcome KL Rahul’s daughter into the world.


The celebration was captured in a video shared on DC’s official Instagram handle, captioned as "Our family extends, our family celebrates."

Axar Patel, adding his own flair, led the moment with the Bollywood-inspired line, “Aa le chak main aa gaya,” making it even more endearing for fans.

KL Rahul is elated

KL Rahul, who missed the match due to the birth of his child, was deeply touched by the gesture. Reacting to the video, he commented, “Lads, this means so much to us thanks a million.”

New mom Athiya Shetty, beaming with joy, also responded with a string of red heart emojis, expressing her gratitude for the love showered on their little one.

Earlier in the evening, Athiya and KL took to social media to share the joyful news with the world. The couple posted an elegant painting of two swans, accompanied by the words, “Blessed with a baby girl.”

The couple, who tied the knot in January 2023 at Suniel Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse, had announced their pregnancy in November 2024 with a sweet post that read, “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon. 2025,” alongside adorable baby feet emojis.
