Average stadium attendance for I-League 2015-16 improves on last season

Matches featuring defending champions Mohun Bagan saw an average turnout of 22,370 till the ninth week of the league, a rise of over 5,000 from the 2014-15 season.

The average stadium attendance for I-League 2015-16 has risen compared with the previous season, calming fears that the Indian Super League would undermine the importance national league. Every club, except East Bengal have improved on their average turnout from last season.

But, while the figures are positive, there's quite a few game Mohun Bagan s remaining in the current season. The league has recorded an average attendance of 8,296, compared with last season's average attendance of 5909.

Matches featuring defending champions Mohun Bagan saw an average turnout of 22,370 till the ninth week of the league, a rise of over 5,000 from the 2014-15 season. Bengaluru FC have attracted an average of 12,197 fans to its home stadium compared with 8,734 last season.

The Goans teams -Dempo, Salgaocar and Sporting Clube de Goa -have also improved despite the teams struggling in the league this season.
