Australia's Patrick Farhat set to be new India physiotherapist
NEW DELHI: Australia's Patrick Farhat is set to join the Indian cricket team as the new physiotherapist -- part of the three new additions in the support staff which will join the Sri Lanka-bound squad for at least a year.

Farhat, who has almost three decades of professional experience, has been roped in to replace Nitin Patel, who had recently resigned due to personal reasons, reports ESPNcricinfo.

Farhat will be joined by Shankar Basu and Arun Kanade, who will be on board as strength and conditioning expert and masseur, respectively.

All three have been handed a one-year contract, with Kanade assuming responsibility in Zimbabwe earlier this month. Farhart and Basu will take charge in Sri Lanka with the three-match Test series starting August 12.

Farhat has been associated with IPL franchise Mumbai Indians, while Basu is currently the Royal Challengers Bangalore trainer.
