ATP Challenger: Yuki Bhambri, Saketh Myneni set up all-India semifinal clash in Samarkand

SAMARKAND: India's Yuki Bhambri tamed third seed Adrian Menendez-Maceiras in straight sets to set up a clash against compatriot Saketh Myneni in the singles semifinals of the USD 50,000 ATP Challenger event, here today.

The seventh seed Indian did not lose his serve in a 6-4 6-4 win over the Spanish rival as he saved all the four breakpoints he faced in the one hour 40 minute quarterfinal duel.

Later in the day, Saketh stunned eighth seeded Brydan Klein of Great Britain 6-4 1-6 6-1 in one hour and 58 minutes to set up an all-India clash in the semifinals.

Earlier, Yuki could have finished the match early but he could convert only one of the 10 break chances he got in the second set. Up 4-2 he had three chances to make it 5-2 but the Spaniard saved all breakpoints.

It went with serve after that and Yuki, 22, served out the match in the 10th game on his third match point.

"It was a high quality match and I created a lot of chances throughout the match. I kept putting pressure on his serviuce games. I was aggressive from the beginning and took a few chances that paid off. Getting early breaks in both the sets also helped," Yuki said after his win.

"I had lot of chances but he served well. I dont really remember being in control of the point on any of those points."
