Asian Games: India wins gold in archery compound men’s team event
The Indian archery compound men’s team featuring Abhishek Verma, Ojas Deotale and Prathamesh Jawkar defeated Korea by a score of 235-230 and clinched a gold in the ongoing Asian Games. With this India marked a hattrick of gold medals on Thursday.

Congratulating the team, the Sports Authority of India said, “Hattrick for the day. India’s Compound Archers Abhishek, and Ojas, and Prathamesh clinch the coveted gold, defeating Korea by a score of 235-230 at the Asian Games. With this victory, India makes a hattrick, marking the third gold medal of the day. Many Many Congratulations, champs.”
Right from the outset, India asserted their control over the match. In the initial set, India delivered an outstanding performance and secured the opening set with a score of 58-55.
However, in the subsequent set, Korea made a comeback and won with a score of 59-58. In the third set, the Indian team once again took command and triumphed with a score of 59-57. In the final set, India put on an impressive display and collected all 10 points.
Earlier on Thursday, India's Ojas Pravin Deotale, Abhishek Verma, and Prathamesh Samadhan Jawkar dominated the quarterfinal match against Bhutan's Tandin Dorji, Khendrup, and Younten Jamtsho by 221-235.
In the semifinal match of the archery compund men's team, the Indian trio defeated Chinese Taipei's Cheng-Wei Chang, Chieh-Lun Chen, and Cheng-Jui Yang by 224-235.
With the gold in the archery compound men's team event, India now stands in fourth place with a total of 84 medals, which includes 21 gold, 31 silver, and 32 bronze medals.
